Hurri-Dry Nationwide snaps to action to assist aftermath of Nashville Tornado outbreak

NASHVILLE – Early morning March 2, on the eve of Super Tuesday POTUS primary elections, a series of tornadoes tore through Nashville near downtown and ripped 10 miles east. It was the first time since 1998 downtown Nashville has been hit by an EF2 tornado or greater and only the second time in 42 years since Nashville had that size of destructive tornado touch down.

Two of the three tornados to do the most damage were estimated to be EF3, two of them, and an EF4, causing severe damage near downtown Nashville, Putnam County and surrounding areas. 25 people were reported dead from the disaster, one indirectly, and more than 150 injuries.

Later that morning, Triple C Restoration and Hurri-Dry Nationwide began to remotely survey the damage and contact other companies in the area. Quickly, the company decided personnel from its national headquarters in Colorado and its camp in Panama City Beach, Florida, would travel to Nashville to offer assistance in the wake of this disaster to our brothers and sisters in the restoration and disaster cleanup industry serving the Nashville-Mount Juliet-Lebanon region.

Some of these companies may have experienced severe damages to their own locations in Nashville.

Hurri-Dry Nationwide offers its fellow restoration companies in disaster-struck regions the equipment and support they need to manage large losses. Available to response 24-7-365, Hurri-Dry has the resources, the equipment, the additional man-power, emergency power and industry certifications to ensure restoration companies working large loss disasters can handle the volume and the scope of such work.

Having seen the after effects of the triple tornados, we had a strong desire to get to Nashville and offer our help. Seeing the large loss to both commercial and residential communities, we knew our special and unique brand of service would be needed so our colleagues in the area could handle the volume and properly manage disaster clean up and restoration efforts in their neighborhoods.

Some of our technicians have volunteered to help neighborhood cleanup efforts organized by local churches and will be helping with trash and debris removal in Eastern Nashville over the weekend. Our business development team has reached out to the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Tennessee Chapter of the Community of Associations Institute, of which Triple C Restoration is a member of the Pikes Peak Chapter, offering our assistance and support to businesses affected by the tornadoes as well as property management companies and home owner associations in the damaged region.

In addition to additional equipment rentals, sales and repairs, Hurri-Dry Nationwide is assisting the area by providing extra project management to handle their work load as well as full Xactimate services to help local companies with properly estimating restoration and cleanup costs with a computer program which was developed in part but the insurance industry. Our estimates help insurance claims management go smoother as they speak to adjusters in their own terms, allowing for faster agreements on scope and costs so work can be performed to its most complete as our certified technicians see fit.

The largest initial need for these types of disasters is board-up services, tarping and emergency power. The Mar 2 tornado outbreak in Putnam County caused a recorded 72,000 power outages. Hurri-Dry Nationwide brought with them the ability to aid with board-up services, tarping of roofs and walls as well as 25k-75k-plus power generators to ensure our fellow restoration companies can get to work immediately with cleanup efforts.
